10 Best Texas Wine Cocktails For Summer

Looking for new ways to enjoy your favorite wines? Start with these 10 wine inspired cocktails and sip your way through Summer! Don’t forget to bookmark this list for all those backyard bbqs and lakeside soirees.

1. The Broken Spur

3/4 oz sweet vermouth
1 1/2 oz Port
1/4 tsp triple sec
Stir with ice, pour into cocktail glass.

2. Claret Cobbler

3 oz Claret
1/3 oz triple sec
2 oz soda water
1/4 oz sugar syrup
Pour ingredients into a wine glass filled with crushed ice. Mix & garnish with fruit. Serve with a straw.

3. Dr. Spice

6oz Dr. Pepper
6oz Tempranillo
1 slice of fresh jalapeno
Mix together and serve over ice. Garnish with another slice of fresh jalapeno.

4. Amarillo Sunset

4oz Moscato
2oz Pomegranite juice
Garnish with orange slice. Serve in a cocktail glass.

5. The Petticoat

5oz Viognier
3oz chilled club soda
Serve over ice with sliced peach or melon balls.

6. The Snakebite

2oz Port
1 splash lemon juice
1oz dry vermouth
Pour over ice, shake, and strain. Serve in a cocktail glass.

7. On the Dock

2oz Tempranillo
4oz Gingerale
Stir and serve over ice.

8. Campfire Song

4 oz Sangiovese
3/4 oz orange liqueur
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/4 oz orange juice
1/4 oz lemon juice
1 twist orange peel
1 twist lemon pee
Heat well. An evening cocktail.

9. The Mayor’s Wife

4 oz chilled GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre blend)
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp superfine sugar
2 oz chilled soda water
Dissolve the sugar in the lemon juice in soda water in a large wine glass. Add cracked ice and pour the wine. Stir gently. Garnish with an orange slice, and serve.

10. Poolside

2 oz Vermentino
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz club soda
1/2 tsp natural sugar
Pour the last 3 ingredients in a tall glass and stir well. Add crushed ice and white wine. Add some more club soda to liking, and stir again. Garnish with a fresh strawberry.
