(Austin, Texas) Clarksville Restaurant and Johnson City Winery Team Up, Keep it Local with Special Dinner Event

Celebrated New American restaurant Café Josie will host a special five-course, farm to table wine pairing dinner on Tuesday, June 2 that will showcase wines from Texas’ own Lewis Wines. Located near Johnson City in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Lewis Wines utilizes low impact methods of sustainable farming and minimal manipulation in the cellar to create its varietals and won a gold medal at the 2015 TEXSOM International Wine Awards (TIWA). The June 2 dinner — a part of Café Josie‘s monthly Wine Me Dine Me dinner series — will see the restaurant’s executive chef Todd Havers create custom courses, pairing the flavors of each dish with popular selections from the winery.
The evening’s menu is as follows:
Course 1: Pickled Gulf Shrimp, arugula, Idiazábal, lemon w/ Lewis Wines Swim Spot 2014
Course 2: Bay Scallop Pad Thai, house-made noodles, peanuts, cilantro w/ Lewis Wines Parr Vineyards Mourvedre Rose 2014
Course 3: Salmon Pastrami, whipped potatoes, Tempranillo fumet w/ Lewis Wines Texas Tempranillo 2012
Course 4: Braised Short Ribs, broccolini, Texas plum coulis w/ Lewis Wines Newsom Tempranillo 2012
Dessert: Texas Pecan Baklava, macerated blackberries, whipped honey w/ Lewis Wines Round Mountain Vineyard Touriga Nacional 2011
The Café Josie / Lewis Wines ‘Wine Me Dine Me’ Dinner is $85 per person, all inclusive (tax & gratuity) and seating is limited. This is a pre-paid, reservation only event, so please call the cafe at 512-322-9226 for reservations or information. Cafe Josie will be closed to the general public during this event and open exclusively for this dinner.
