(August 2016) Austin, TX — Farm to Table, which has experienced steady growth in its eight years of existence, is expanding into the Houston market, spurred by the expansion of Austin’s Tacodeli and other restaurant clients seeking new markets. Farm to Table distributes locally grown farm products to restaurants, schools and independent grocery stores and commercial kitchens, simultaneously cultivating strong relationships with Texas farmers. The family-owned and -operated company will open a warehouse and office in the Bellaire area in September. Farm to Table expanded to the Dallas market in July of last year.
Farm to Table’s expansion will include the addition of a 6,000-square-foot Houston-based warehouse spacious enough to serve all of Farm to Table’s current and growing list of Houston clients. Farm to Table will deliver six days a week to areas concentrated inside and around the 610 Loop in Houston. Houston-area Farm to Table clients include Tacodeli, a perennial favorite; Snap Kitchen, which sells healthy cook-at-home meals; and Snooze, a Denver-based restaurant that emphasizes breakfast and recently expanded to Texas.
Currently, Farm to Table works with Texas-based farms such as Gundermann Acres, Animal Farm, Diiorio Farms, Theiss Farms, Cooper Farms, Honey Doe Farm & Creamery and Lightsey Farms, and sources products from vendors such as Mill-King Market & Creamery, Vital Farms, 44 Farms, Strube Ranch, Capra Lamb and Texas Quail Farms.
Farm to Table was founded by John Lash in Austin in 2008, and distributes competitively priced, locally grown, seasonal products, including fruits, vegetables, dairy products, organic eggs, pasture-raised chicken, Berkshire pork, Texas Wagyu and Angus beef, and Capra lamb to restaurants, school districts, independent grocery stores and commercial kitchens in the Central Texas area.
